I’ve been ADOPTED by Lori and Patrick!
Riesling, #055
She was only 13.5 lbs and scruffy as heck when the rescue picked her up. She lived with a 90-year-old smoker whose family put him in a nursing home and turned pup in because no one wanted her. She had just turned 5 years old.
Although she was at the upper range of the age we wanted — Her ears sold me. 🙂 Both Eric and I emailed each other about her at nearly the same time, so we set up an appointment to meet her the following week. She was just about the friendliest schnauzer I’d ever met and we fell in love with her instantly.
Today, Riesling is a healthy and quite active 19 lbs. We are convinced that she is solar powered, as she rises with the morning sun and doesn’t slow down until the sun sets. Thank you, Ries, for making a wonderful addition to our family.
You can read more about our adventures with Riesling on our blog.

Emmie, #009
We just give thanks each day that we have Emmie. She is the most adorable and loving dog either one of us has ever had. She’s my shadow and stays right on my heels, and loves everybody that comes to our house. She thinks they came especially to see her!

Barney, #014
We are thrilled with Barney! He is more adorable than we had hoped!! He is so smart, I can tell it will be easy to train him. Already (after only 3 days) he lays down in his bed in the living room and stays there while we eat dinner at the table. He plays so well with the kids and we all pet and brush him.
I took this picture just this morning, before Jennifer went to school. She wanted to have a picture to show her teacher and her friends today. Thanks for everything. We will be happy to keep in touch and update you with pictures! Come over any time and visit.

Angus, #003
Angus is perfect. Greg and I could not have found a more perfect fit to our family. He minds well, he sits, stays, comes when called. Angus is a dream on a leash. Angus and I have walked just about everyday since we got him. He sleeps with us on the bed, right up against me, tight as he can get. Greg was off last week, and they have bonded very well. Angus gets up in his lap and we all play ball. I see Angus taking the ball to Greg to play. I knew Greg’s love for dogs would win Angus over, but do not get me wrong, Greg is second banana to me. Angus likes his new bed, we move it in the den during the day and he is in it off and on during the day. At night we move it in the bedroom and he is in it while we are getting ready for bed and then for work. He loves the screen porch, being outside, but he can still see me in the kitchen. He went on his first boat ride this weekend. He just sat on my lap being cute and his nose was going crazy and he was snorting.
Angus is just wonderful; I love him to pieces already. Thank you so much for such a wonderful gift. I will continue to turn in cartridges for you, I am such a fan of your work. The least we can do is help you raise money for more little cuties just like Angus. I will send you a picture of us soon. Happy New Year. Angus’ forever Mom—Shannon
Nelson, #005
Wanted to let you know Nelson had his first appointment at Tina’s Dog Grooming. When I picked him up at noon he looked so handsome. He wasn’t happy when I took him there, but when I saw him after his grooming I got the impression he was impressed and felt good. We also went for a nice walk on the beach and Nelson LOVED it !! He had so much fun pushing the sand with his nose. He would walk over to the shoreline and when a wave came in he would run. Nelson also LOVES to ride in the car and I take him everywhere I can. Elton and I are so happy to have Nelson, he is the perfect companion for us.Â
Kind Regards

Bella
I just wanted to say hi and let you know how great Miss Bella is doing!
We are so thankful to have Bella in our lives; our house really feels like a home with the “tap tap tap tap” of little paws!! She was already housetrained when we adopted her, but we’ve now trained her to use a doggy door (actually she had it down the first week we had her!) and she loves to romp around the grass and play. We also get lots of exercise, taking long walks in the park and around the neighborhood. She has also taken a couple long road trips with us to visit friends and has done great in the car. Being an alpha girl , we were a little concerned how she would get along with our friend ‘ s dog, but once they learned each others’ boundaries, all was fine…by the end of our time there they were trotting around the house together. She is just such a joy, and Marc and I are so grateful to NCSR, first and foremost for matching us up with our Bella, but also for ALL the hard work you do to make sure these dogs get the best out of life. You are a special group of people. She is very loved!
Sincerely,
Melissa & Marc
Lily, #115
(formerly Lulu)
Just a quick note to let you know how much we are enjoying having Lily, (formerly Lulu) as a part of our family. She has adjusted very fast and it feels like we have had her forever! She is such a joy. My daughter says, “The best part about having Lily is if you haven’t seen her for a couple of minutes, she will jump up with joy. If you get down on the ground she will pull your hair and bite your ear. I love Lily!” (Quote from Anna)
A special thank you to Debbie Rape. She has been an enormous help to us.
We are blessed by knowing Debbie and being a part of the NC Schnauzer Rescue. And Thanks to all the volunteers who make Rescue possible.
