NORTH CAROLINA SCHNAUZER RESCUE, INC. (NCSR) is a 501c3 non-profit, all-volunteer group that works in North Carolina to rescue, assess through fostering, care for medical needs, and adopt out pure-bred miniature schnauzers. We also strive to educate the public on schnauzer-specific and other canine issues, and support spay/neuter for all family pets to help reduce pet overpopulation. NCSR does not have a central “shelter” location – our rescue group is made up of foster homes throughout the state of North Carolina , with concentrations of membership in the greater Raleigh , Greensboro , Winston-Salem , Charlotte , Asheville , and Wilmington areas.
Mini Schnauzer Meetup!
Raleigh area NC JANUARY Meetup
Join us at the Panera Bread in Cary (on Walnut St near Crossroads)
for a meeting of miniature schnauzer enthusiasts! Petsmart is right near here in the same shopping area so we can always go shopping there with our pooches too!
If the weather is nice and we can sit outside on the patio, please feel free to bring your mini schnauzer! If it's too cold or raining,
just come for a humans-only meet & greet, and some schnauzer talk and socializing.
Since our rescue is sponsoring this meetup, we can obviously talk about what we do in rescue, and also discuss schnauzer health and
nutrition. But this meetup should not be all about rescue - we want everyone who loves mini schnauzers to come and enjoy being around
other people who think this breed is the best :)
This is purely a social event, and is unstructured, but it is always fun to meet and socialize with other schnauzer owners & their dogs!!!
PLEASE RSVP SO WE KNOW TO EXPECT YOU! :) Also if there are any changes or updates, you will be emailed via the RSVP list.

Give a gift that keeps on giving the whole year round through the lives of the dogs you help! Donate items from our Wish List to our current and future dogs in foster care. If you would like to make a monetary donation as a gift to a schnauzer owner, in memory of a special schnauzer, or in honor of a friend or friend's schnauzer, you may make a contribution online by clicking the “Donate” bone anywhere within our website, or by mailing in a check or money order to NC Schnauzer Rescue. For donations made in honor or memory of someone else, we will make a custom card to send out to the designee notifying them of your gift, and (for donations of $50 or more) can also include them on our Memorials page if you send us a picture. North Carolina Schnauzer Rescue is a recognized 501c3 non-profit so your contribution is 100% tax deductible! For more information about donating, please read our DONATE page or email rescue@ncschnauzers.org.
We thank you in advance for your care and support of needy miniature schnauzers in North Carolina!
OUR MISSION: To help displaced miniature schnauzers find permanent adoptive homes, no matter what situation they may have come from—owner or breeder turn-ins, family homes that can no longer care for them, or shelters where they have ended up as strays. We promote responsible pet ownership that includes training, proper nutrition and veterinary care, and a lifelong commitment on the part of adoptive families.
OUR RESCUE PHILOSOPHY: The dedicated members of NCSR spend many personal hours devoting their time and energy to every dog, and as a smaller rescue group that specializes in miniature schnauzers as a breed, our goal is to provide one-on-one attention to our dogs in foster care so that we can more thoroughly assess their behavior, and be more capable of making the best possible adoptive match for each one. We do not have a centralized shelter location - all our adoptable dogs are fostered with our members (all across NC) so that they can experience a loving home environment while awaiting adoption. We greatly appreciate your interest in rescue - we are always looking for new members to help, and for wonderful adoptive homes for miniature schnauzers!
