Miss Sugar (NCSR #104) was our adorable baby, adopted in January 2007, after we rescued her from a bad backyard breeding operation. Her son, Vinnie, came into the rescue with an eye defect and we set out to find his Mom. We found her and her sister, Carly, who was also adopted through the rescue. We were able to free both girls from their life of breeding and at age, nine, Miss Sugar was ready to enjoy life. We are grateful they were given to us.
Together with Schautze and Willie (adopted), she enjoyed watching tv and the backyard. She was a snuggly little bear who never tired of attention. Our favorite antics were her “puppy running” and her ticklish beard which made her do the “schnauzer stiff leg stretch.”
Miss Sugar passed away after a very fast decline due to renal failure on August 12. A big piece of our hearts go with her. She left this world at the NC State Vet School where they did everything possible for our baby but we were glad we were with her to kiss her goodbye and assure her we loved her. And though she was 11, she always looked and acted like a puppy. We miss her and love her, and are so very glad we had her for 2 1/2 years where her life was about fun and not breeding adorable puppies for profit.
